American Museum of Natural History New York
Best known for its spectacular dinosaur halls, the American Museum of Natural History has something to fascinate everyone who is fortunate enough to be able to pay a visit. The emphasis here is indeed on natural history. With over 30 million artifacts in its collection, the American Museum is one of the most important in the world. The Hall of Biodiversity is where you will find the popular "Dzanga-Sangha Rainforest", a walk through the African tropics. A 94 ft model of a Blue Whale is the centerpiece of the Hall of Ocean Life, and humans themselves take center stage in the Hall of Human Biology and Evolution.
For those who prefer a little more technology, we direct you to the Rose Center for Earth and Space and the Hayden Planetarium and Sky Theater. If you prefer to watch stars of a different kind, drop by the Museum of Television and Radio. Have a seat at one of 90 computers and take your pick of over 75,000 US radio and television programs which are available. Temporary exhibits are often interactive, making the museum popular with children as well as adults.
