Frick Mansion New York
The Frick Mansion, built on 5th Avenue in 1914 for steel baron Henry Clay Frick, houses one of the most amazing private collections of art in the world. The home was opened as a museum in 1935 although very little in the house has been changed, preserving its intimacy. Frick used his vast wealth to amass a collection that includes several Rembrandts as well as works by Titian, Bellini, Turner, Vermeer, El Greco, and Goya, to name but a few. Paintings are not the only thing on display.

There are galleries featuring decorative arts, sculptures, porcelain and furniture. In addition to Frick's personal collection - which now forms the heart of the gallery - the museum also mounts several excellent temporary exhibitions throughout the year. Audio tours are available and recommendd, allowing you to tour the museum at your own pace. Art lovers, as well as those interested in the architecture of New York's golden age, will find much to like about the Frick Collection Museum.
