Sony Wonder Technology Lab
It would be easy to assume that the Sony Wonder Technology Lab is nothing more than an advertisement for the company's wide range of electronic media products. Although you will see the brand name posted on nearly everything in the building, those concerns will quickly vanish once you walk inside. Part museum, part science class and part video game, this is quickly becoming one of the most popular attractions in New York - four stories of interactive exhibits explaining everything from how camcorders work to basic robotics.
The concept of "hands-on" exhibits is taken to a whole new level: record a song, edit video, produce your own television news program, and save the world from environmental catastrophe. You can even create your own video game. By means of an electronic swipe card, the whole experience is personalized, and you can even collect your diploma on the way out the door. Perhaps the greatest wonder of all is that the entire experience is free! Reservations are suggested however.
