Wellington Hotel New York City Review
Wellington Hotel
871 Seventh Avenue at 55th Street
New York City
Most people who visit New York City, either for business or leisure, do not go to spend their days in their hotel room. They go to take in the sights, sounds and spectacles of the "city that never sleeps". For that reason, hotels in New York City are not "Resort Hotels" nor are they the grand hotels of Las Vegas. In New York, the greatest consideration for a hotel is its location. Traffic jams, crowded subways, and expensive taxis can quickly take the joy out of your visit. The Wellington Hotel understands these issues perfectly. Ideally located, it is but a 2-minute walk from Central Park, 5 minutes from Times Square and within walking distance of Empire State building and many other attractions and restaurants.
The rooms are a bit small (somewhat usual for New York hotels) and a little refurbishment is in order, but the rooms are clean and the atmosphere is friendly. The front desk staff does a good job at serving people quickly, keeping your wait to a minimum. The Wellington is accustomed to serving groups, so if you are traveling in large numbers or have special requests, they will have no difficulty accommodating you.
